Training

Training with CAM can be undertaken in one of two different ways.

Each year we run two courses based at the Redcar Fire Station.  (See Map).  These courses (usually on Sunday mornings) start off with comprehensive classroom sessions followed by a rideout paired up with an observer to develop the skills covered in the classroom. At the end of the seven weeks some may be ready to take the test, while others may need additional coaching to become test ready.  If this is the case then these associates will be paired up with an observer, on a one-to-one basis to finish off their training.

If you wish to do the training on a one-to-one basis this can be arranged through our 1-2-1 coordinator who will arrange for an observer to work with you at a time that is convenient to you.

During your time as an associate member of Cleveland Advanced Motorcyclists we will help you to;

  • Ride smoothly, safely and swiftly without losing your licence, your dignity or your life!

  • Enjoy your riding with much greater confidence and style.

  • Learn to to improve your safety an a motorcycle to the benefit of yourself and others.

  • Develop greater awareness and survival skills which will stay with you through the years.

With the guidance and advice of our fully qualified motorcycle observers to move you through our structured training course we will;

  • Help you to reach the standard required for the institute of Advanced Motorists bike test.

  • Actually sit and pass the I.A.M. Test.

  • Become a FULL member of Cleveland Advanced Motorcyclists and the I.A.M.

  • Know the pride and companionship that membership will bring to you as well as social events and ride outs to enjoy.

And, once you become a full member;

  • Possibly train YOU as an observer yourself, to pass your skills on to others to help save lives.

Our course dates for 2012 are;
